In this Podcast I'll play some great music from the PodSafe Music Network (and others when I find them). Talk about what going on with me, and about my dissertation. I'm trying out Podcasting as part of a research assignment. I've chosen Podcasting and what better way to research it than to make my own Podcast.

My Kind Of Music - 1st Post

Hi, this is my first post to the blog, but I don't have any audio content yet. I'm going to be adding it probably in the next week.

The show will be music, stuff from the Podsafe Music Network and if I find another source then I'll use that too.

I'm creating a podcast for a project at university. I have to do a research project and I'm going to do it on Podcasting and I thought the best way of doing this would be to make my own little podcast of my own. My influences are Adam Curry's Daily Source Code and C.C. Chapman's Accident Hash and U-Turn Cafe.

Well, I'll get the show up soon. Grr the batteries are running out in my bluetooth keyboard making it hard to type 'ohhh well......'

Hope to hear from ya soon.

Rich

UPDATE: I had a great idea on my way to uni today. I'm going to talk about my dissertation on the show as well. I'll still play music, but I think it'd be kinda cool to have an audio record of my progress.

I'm off now to sign up to the Podsafe Music Network. Yaay!

UPDATE: I've signed up - e-mail should be in my inbox as we speak. I now have a feed too - http://feeds.feedburner.com/mykindofmusic I'll have to try it out when I get home. This is so cool!

UPDATE: I've got my first two songs worked out and queued in my PMN playlist ready to download and put on the show - it's only going to be 10 minutes as that's the length that CastBlaster Beta runs for. I'm hoping to maybe do everything through the laptop, I just need to find the best software (which hopefully does everything CastBlaster does).

UPDATE: I've not posted anything yet because of a problem with a microphone. I was trying to record with a condenser mic which I didn't know (until I looked it up) that I need a pre-amp between the mic and the PC so I've gone out and bought a cheap mic. It's USB so I can plug headphones into the speaker out socket. It also means I can Skype on my Mac using the USB Mic and the headphone socket on my iMic. I hope to get something out very very soon. I'm going to fork up the £20 for the full Castblaster though because 10 mins isn't enough :)

UPDATE: I'm thick. I bought a nice USB Mic but unfortunatly it doesn't work with CastBlaster so it's back to Dixons to get a 'proper' mic. Ho-hum. However, the mic does work with my Mac and looks kinda cool on my desk. I'll get the mic tomorrow I hope and so I'll probably podcast on Saturday. Peace-out!

UPDATE: First show is here

UPDATE: I appologise for the rubbish levels in this show. Today I got my licence for CastBlaster so I'll do another show with more music and sort out the levels so the next show will be much better. That was a kind of Alpha version of the show so I'll do another which will be the Beta version. I'm working now but I'll do it later (promise).

UPDATE: Show 2 should be here between tomorrow and Wednesday. I now have the full version and a few tracks set up to play so I'll be doing that in the next few days. Keep your eyes peeled.
